The State Duma supports the external use of cryptocurrencies under an experimental regime
In April, a draft law on the use of digital currencies in foreign markets was submitted to the State Duma for consideration.
As Anatoly Aksakov, head of the Financial Market Committee, noted, with the help of bitcoin and other virtual currencies, it is possible to circumvent the sanctions regime that applies to Russian companies and banks, but only within the framework of a special experimental legal regime.
The day before, in an interview with Parlamentskaya Gazeta, the deputy said that his colleagues support the use of digital assets, but in foreign markets. Inside our country, they cannot be used as a means of payment, Aksakov stressed.
He also added that the authorities decided to stop the implementation of the project to create a single national crypto exchange.
The head of the Financial Committee of the State Duma said:
She becomes ineffective. [единая криптобиржа] in terms of its use in the international market. We decided to create the rules of the game for those who work with digital assets, and crypto exchanges are an infrastructural element of such a market that can quickly be created and quickly disappear. Therefore, the main thing is that he works according to the rules.
