Executive Director of the rating agency BIK Ratings Andrey Usachev believes that in the week from May 15 to May 21, the strengthening of the Belarusian ruble, following the Russian one, will most likely stop.
The strengthening of the Russian ruble was facilitated by the sale of foreign currency by exporters in preparation for the payment of dividends. But in general, the external background for the Russian ruble remains unfavorable. There is no upward trend in oil prices, and the longer oil prices remain at relatively low levels, the more negatively this will affect Russian export earnings, setting the stage for a future weakening of the ruble, which will have a direct impact on the Belarusian ruble.
The expert predicts that this week the exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble will most likely be within the range of 2.8 against the dollar. It is also possible its weakening to the values of 2.88-2.9 per dollar.
What about the crypto market?
