Scroll Session One: how to accumulate as many marks as possible and increase the allocation for the crypto airdrop

Scroll, a well-known layer-2 blockchain of Ethereum, has recently launched the “Session One” as part of its incentive campaign in anticipation of the upcoming crypto airdrop that will reward the community of the cryptographic ecosystem.

In this phase, users are invited to deposit assets on lending platforms and to act as liquidity providers on decentralized exchanges, in exchange for “marks” points that will later be converted into SCROLL tokens.

Let’s see how to accumulate as many marks as possible and become eligible for the airdrop.

All the details below.

The Ethereum layer-2 Scroll announces the launch of Session One in anticipation of the crypto airdrop

A few days ago the Scroll platform launched “Session One,” which is the second phase of its loyalty program.

The event is reserved for users of the blockchain, in preparation for the launch of the airdrop of the homonymous crypto SCROLL.

Just a month ago, the Session Zero was inaugurated, which aimed to reward the balance over time of users’ wallets and the gas spent in the first months of the chain’s life.

Now with the introduction of session One, new eligibility criteria are being published to secure the so-called “marks”.

The marks, ricordiamo, non solo altro che i punti ottenibili dagli utenti durante le varie Sessions e che al termine del programma saranno convertiti nel token di governance di Scroll.

The Session One distributes marks to the community, remunerating exclusively those who contribute to providing liquidity to the DeFi of the layer-2 by depositing assets (those considered eligible in Session Zero) in certain protocols.

In particular, this phase distinguishes the decentralized exchanges (DEX) and the lending protocols. In the first, one can act as a liquidity provider, while in the second, one can provide liquidity and borrow other coins.

Currently, the DEX accumulating points are Ambient and Nuri, while the only active lending protocol is Aave, but the inclusion of other dapps with retroactive effect of the marks is expected: by depositing now on the new protocols you still receive an allocation.

The next projects to be included will be Syncswap, Izumi, OkuTrade, Zebra, Layerbank, Compound, Rho Markets, Cog Finance, and Synonym.

At this moment there is a bug in the crediting of marks for decentralized exchanges but do not worry because the project team is working to resolve the issue with retroactive effect.

How to get as many marks as possible in view of the crypto airdrop of Scroll during Session One and Session Zero

It is not clear to what extent the various marks are allocated among the addresses: what we know from the official announcements of the Scroll team is that the amount of points earned depends on the type of on-chain action, the value of the stake, and the time the position is maintained.

According to this particular formula: Marks = Value x Action x Time

Trying to provide practical examples, we can say that to accumulate as many marks as possible, we essentially have 2 ways.

The first is to deposit cryptocurrencies at the DEX, providing liquidity to volatile pairs like for example ETH-USD. In this case, it is better to choose a narrow LP range to capture exchange fees.

Pairs with low volatility, or non-volatile like ETH-WBTC or ETH-wstETH offer fewer marks but at the same time are safer. In fact, these present a low risk if not exempt from impermanent loss.

As for the lending platforms, to get more markes and earn a larger crypto airdrop we can go in “leverage.

This means borrowing assets after providing liquidity as collateral, and subsequently depositing the amount with other protocols or simply holding it.

We remind you that Session Zero is still valid, so you still earn points simply by holding coins on the chain.

It is worth noting that recently the “liquid restaking token” weETH of the EtherFi platform has landed on Scroll, allowing users to simultaneously farm the airdrops of Eigenlayer and EtherFi itself.

Distribution of marks among addresses and future price forecast of SCROLL

According to what was reported by user X “DefiWimar”, in total there are about 2.32 million addresses participating in the Scroll airdrop for a total of marks that is around 306 million points.

On average, to become part of the top 10% of wallets competing to maximize a higher score, 273 marks are needed, while the top 4.4% of wallets hold more than 500 marks.

The average value of points accumulated per wallet is 178 marks, while the median is 72 marks.

Thanks to this information, we can understand if compared to the rest of the Scroll community we are positioning ourselves well for the airdrop.

Obviously, this type of airdrop is “liquidity-based”, so we cannot expect to farm many points with a small capital.

If instead we have a decent balance (let’s say +1 ETH) we can aim to climb the peaks of the ranking even starting from now.

Indicatively 1 ETH guarantees us 10 marks per day if held in the Scroll chain. For deposits of Session One, the reward should be higher.

Understand well that “simply” with 1 ETH bridged we can reach the top 4.4% of the ranking (+500 marks) in 50 days, provided that the other wallets will continue to earn points. In this case, the result might be slightly less exciting.

Let’s see at this point what the forecasts of the prices related to the marks are, which as previously mentioned will entitle to the crypto airdrop of SCROLL.

According to the pre-market quotations of the platform Whales.Market, each marks corresponds to an estimated price of 0.18 dollars.

The valuation is in sharp decline compared to last week’s prices that were close to parity with the dollar. It is clear that we are talking about illiquid markets, so the price could vary significantly from now on.

The future evolution of the prices of marks will depend on how many of these points will still be released and how long the loyalty campaign Sessions will last.

For the moment we can observe that, at this value the circulating market cap of SCROLL would be approximately 55.8 million dollars.

It is a capitalization over 15 times lower than what was achieved at the listing by the coin of Zksync. Compared to the initial capitalization of the token of Starknet, we are talking about a result 36 times lower.

Therefore, if no new large sums of marks are distributed from now on, we can expect a significantly higher price at the listing.
