ki9 creates ‘karmine’ script to counter selfish mining threat

Keith Irwin (ki9¹) has created karmine² – a bash script that can be used to run XMRig³ whenever selfish mining⁴ activity is detected, in an attempt to prevent future Monero network reorgs⁵:

It’s a bash script to call a hook when selfish mining is detected. The main purpose is to activate miners when the network needs the extra hashrate. [..] When qubic is mining selfishly, the network needs your help! Additional hashpower means it’s less likely that they are able to perform a reorg on the network. So you can use karmine to run xmrig when your hashpower is going to do the most good for the network.

The script uses DataHoarder’s tips.txt⁶ page to find indications of selfish mining. Installation and usage instructions are available in the project’s Gitea repository⁷.
