In mid-May, Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the financial market, announced that deputies would agree on the final version of the mining regulation bill by the end of June 2023.

The day before, Aksakov confirmed the readiness of the lower house of parliament for the speedy legalization of cryptocurrency mining. According to him, the State Duma hopes to bring mining out of the shadows by the end of this year.

The MP said:

We now have four bills [о майнинге]. The first and second relate to the experimental legal regime. The third relates to taxation, and the last law spells out liability for violations of the regime.

In July, the State Duma is to adopt all these documents. Already in the second half of 2023, Russian miners will be able to work legally and pay taxes to the budget.

Aksakov also noted that many individuals and legal entities that mine cryptocurrency want to work in the legal field and replenish the domestic treasury. The state meets them halfway and accelerates the implementation of regulatory legislation.
