The largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance has returned support for transactions with cards of Russian banks. With the help of Russian cards, you can replenish your deposits with rubles, Turkish lira, British pounds, euros, Kazakhstani tenge and other currencies. There are no US dollars in the list of available currencies.
The exchange did not issue an official notice. The service is probably implemented by the crypto exchange through the Qiwi payment gateway. On the fiat deposits page, replenishment in rubles is also available through the Advcash and Payeer payment systems. The conversion of rubles into cryptocurrency occurs without problems, and the withdrawal of funds is carried out with a limit of 4,300 to 200,000 rubles, according to the telegram channel “Durov’s Code”.
Binance support has confirmed this information.
In addition to restoring the ability to replenish a deposit with Russian cards, Binance this month lifted restrictions on the amount of funds in the exchange wallets of Russian users. Last year, after the introduction of another package of European sanctions, the exchange set a limit of 10,000 euros for Russian citizens.
The lifting of restrictions became possible due to the transfer of Russian users to another legal entity Binance, so now formally servicing Russian users does not violate EU sanctions.
The exchange emphasized that Binance legal entities registered in the EU jurisdiction are still strictly prohibited from providing services in the EU and the EEA (European Economic Area) to legal entities and citizens of Russia, with the exception of certain categories of persons. In the EU, these restrictions are applied by the platform in full.
