Bitcoin hashrate reaches historic high
12 June hashrate network of the first cryptocurrency (smoothed seven-day moving average) reached a record value of 393.9 EH / s, according to Glassnode.
On May 31, the hashrate-correlated mining difficulty peaked at 51.23 T. According to the forecast btc.comas a result of the recalculation expected within a day, the value of the metric will increase by another ~3% – up to 52.84 T.
The increase in difficulty amid the decline in the price of bitcoin puts pressure on the profitability of miners. Last 30 days hashprice dropped from $0.0825 to $0.0671 per TH/s per day.
The increase in the computing power of the Bitcoin network in recent days has taken place against the backdrop of a decrease in the cost of ASIC miners. Since the end of May, the price of the latest generation devices has dropped from $23.75 to $21.53 per TH/s.
In May, the total income of miners reached $916 million, a figure that has been steadily growing since November 2022.
