Coinbase Enlists Politicians to Lobby for Crypto in the US

Many businessmen criticize the US government for its tough approach to crypto regulation. For example, financier Tim Draper recently said that the policies of the American leadership are forcing startups and exchanges to go to other jurisdictions.

At the end of last week, Coinbase announced the creation of an advisory council that will lobby for the interests of the blockchain industry in the United States.

The council will include both former and current politicians, as well as representatives of the cryptocurrency market, the press service of Coinbase reported.

The exchange has attracted former Senator Patrick Toomey to the board.

Also included are former U.S. Congressmen Sean Patrick and Tim Ryan, as well as current political strategists.

The press center of the cryptocompany noted:

The creation of an advisory board will be an important step for Coinbase, as we focus on the US and international standards. We are happy to work with those who are pushing for the introduction of regulation of cryptocurrencies and the renewal of the financial system.
