Dynamic NFT characters added to Axie Infinity

Fans of the blockchain game Axie Infinity will be able to upgrade their characters by earning Axie Experience Points in battles.

Sky Mavis, developer of blockchain game Axie Infinity, released an update. The game now has an Axie Experience Points (AXP) system, and players have the ability to level up characters.

What has changed for players in Axie Infinity

Initially, the NFT characters of the blockchain game were static. This means that at birth everyone was given a certain set of qualities, and they did not change during life. If the player wanted to advance in the game and increase the chances of earning something, he had to acquire or “bring out” new axis with improved characteristics.

In the latest update, players have the opportunity to “evolve” their characters as part of the gameplay. Here’s how it goes:

• Axis participate in battles and earn Axie Experience Points (AXP). Each victory in a rating battle brings the character 150 AXP. You can earn a maximum of 4500 AXP per day – that’s how much wins in 30 games will give.
• Having accumulated a sufficient amount of AXP, the axi goes to the promotion. To do this, it needs to be updated on the character management page in the App. axie and keep the earned points in the on-chain. The process will be paid and mandatory. If you do not raise axi, it will not accumulate new AXP.
• By leveling up a character three times and reaching level 30, the player will be able to upgrade three parts of the character.

Why Axie Dynamic NFTs

The developers of Axie Infinity hope that the update will revive the game and return the lost love of users. The star of one of the most high-profile P2E games went down in 2022 during the bear market. A series of unsuccessful updates, hacks, suspicions of fraud accelerated the outflow of users to other games.

The ability to level up characters, a feature long present in traditional games, can enhance the playability of Axie Infinity. In addition, dynamic NFTs and AXPs add new mechanics to the game.

The developers claim that Axie Infinity is turning into a game-making game. This concept has already been partially implemented in Axie Core, and the AXP functionality will help the project reach a new level in the Web3 and NFT segment.

What happens to the AXS token

AXS has rebounded from its June drop to $4.7, but the token remains bearish in the long term. At the time of publication, one AXS can be bought for $6.4 — almost two times cheaper than at the beginning of the year. AXS hit an all-time high in November 2021 at $164. It has since lost 96% of its value.
