Most people in the US are aware of the existence of bitcoin.

88% of Americans have basic knowledge of digital currencies, according to a study by Pew Research Center. However, only 24% of those surveyed said that cryptocurrencies are a safe tool.

The vast majority of US adults over the age of 50 are skeptical about the possibilities of digital assets. Among young people, about 66% consider bitcoin and other virtual currencies to be risky instruments.

41% of men aged 18 to 29 admitted to having invested in such assets. At the same time, only 16% of women of the same age included themselves in the category of crypto investors.

Investigators also found that migrants are much more likely to use virtual currencies. They are most popular with immigrants from Asia and Latin America.

A Pew Research Center report notes that of U.S. crypto investors, only 10% purchased their first coins before 2018.

A similar survey was recently conducted by the Coinbase exchange. She found that approximately 20% of Americans have invested part of their capital in digital currencies.
