Over 1M ETH is queued to be withdrawn from staking

As Ethereum quotes rise above $2,100, the amount of funds pending withdrawal from staking reached 1.09 ETH (~$2.31 billion).

According to Token Unlocks, within the next 12 hours, the amount of withdrawals will be ~48,380 ETH in the amount of $102.3 million.

Excluding fees, 17.39 million ETH (~$36.73 billion) is locked in the deposit contract. This volume corresponds to 15.4% of the total issue of the coin.

On April 13, withdrawals from staking amounted to 14,300 ETH, while deposits amounted to 18,370 ETH.

However, since the activation of the Shapella hard fork, the cumulative balance has been negative – “minus” almost 147,970 ETH. The outflow amounted to 256,820 coins, while the inflow was less than half of this amount (108,940).

The leader in the amount of funds expected to be withdrawn remains the American exchange Kraken, the request of which reaches 556,237 ETH (~$1.18 billion), according to Nansen.

In February, the company settled charges filed by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding the staking program. Kraken agreed to stop offering the product and pay $30 million in fines.

Coinbase faced similar claims from the SEC. The exchange is expecting a withdrawal of 94,750 (~$201 million).

Ethereum quotes have grown by more than 10% over the past day (CoinGecko). At the time of writing, the coin is trading at $2,113.
