Slack is having major issues

Slack channels that won’t load and messages that fail to send are a common issue right now, but there’s no word yet on what is causing the problems or when they will be fixed.

Slack is experiencing some major issues on Thursday. On The Verge’s Slack, I’m finding that some posts just won’t send in both channels and in threads, and a few of my colleagues are reporting similar issues. But the issues are somewhat inconsistent; I’m still seeing some posts come in.

We’re not the only ones. Nearly 10,000 users have reported issues on Downdetector, and I’m seeing a bunch of posts about Slack problems on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

The company’s status page confirmed there are issues at 12:37PM ET. “Some customers are encountering issue loading pages in Slack,” the company wrote. “We’re actively looking into this, and we’ll report back as more information becomes available.” Slack didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment.

A Slack status account on X has not shared any updates as of this writing, though it hasn’t posted since May.
