
The developers of the Optimism layer 2 network have approved June 6 as the official date for the upgrade of the protocol called Bedrock. The event is scheduled for 19:00 (Kyiv/Moscow).
The official date of OP Mainnet’s upgrade to Bedrock has been set: June 6, 2023 at 16:00 UTC!
The upgrade will require 2-4 hours of downtime for OP Mainnet.

The Bedrock activation was supported by the owners of the OP utility token.
During the upgrade, the network will be unavailable for two to four hours. Deposits and withdrawals will not be possible.
Bedrock is expected to cut fees by 47%.
Node operators will be required to migrate to the new software.
The update will provide the foundation for Super Chains, allowing more chains like Coinbase’s Base to be built.
According to DeFi Llama, TVL Optimism is worth $865.3M, behind rival Arbitrum ($2.39B).
