Now any user can use the billionaire’s email – saylor@microstrategy.com – to send bitcoins.
After Sailor was posted on Twitter, users started sending him small deposits of 21 sat.
To create such a wallet, MicroStrategy used the protocol Lightning Addresswhich allows you to replace standard network addresses with other Internet identifiers.
Sailor is considered an ardent supporter of bitcoin. His company periodically buys the first cryptocurrency – in early April, MicroStrategy acquired 1045 BTC. In total, the organization has already accumulated 140,000 BTC.
Recall that at the end of 2022, the company announced a number of solutions based on the Lightning Network. MicroStrategy is mainly interested in security protocols and corporate marketing.
In February 2023, Sailor’s firm posted a quarterly loss of $249 million and reported raising $46.6 million.
