There are more fake crypto exchanges in the world – OfficeLife

The number of fraudulent crypto exchangers has tripled in a year. Increasingly, copies of sites of well-known aggregators appear on the Web, advertising fake resources, writes Kommersant.

In March 2023, there were about three times more fraudulent crypto resources in the world than a year ago. The share of unscrupulous transactions in this area has grown one and a half times and continues to grow.

In the Russian-speaking segment of the Internet, the number of small crypto exchangers has also increased significantly, a significant part of which are at least “unscrupulous”.

The growth in the number of Internet resources created to carry out criminal operations with digital currencies is associated by experts with an increase in the volume of crypto-fiat transactions.

Interest in cryptocurrency revived against the backdrop of the banking crisis and the growth of virtual currencies. And in Russia and Belarus – also in connection with the introduction of sanctions restrictions. By the beginning of April, the bitcoin rate had consolidated above the level of $28 thousand, and the ether quotes exceeded $1.8 thousand.
